really afraid of the dentist.

Absolutely! So many of our patients were referred to us by someone
who started out just as nervous as you, but found out how pleasant
a dental experience can actually be and are now our best advertisers!
Our primary goal is your comfort. We explain every procedure before
we start, so that you know what to expect. We offer video glasses
to watch a movie during treatment, so that you can return to work
not only with healthy, attractive teeth, but you also got in some
fun (plus the movie gave you something else to think about and listen
to!) We also offer nitrous oxide, an inhaled anti-anxiety medication,
if you are more nervous. With nitrous oxide, you are still awake,
you just don’t feel so nervous anymore. In a few short breaths
of oxygen, the nitrous oxide can be completely removed from your
system, so that you can safely drive yourself home or return to
work. Lastly, we offer sedation
dentistry, in which you take a pill prior to your appointment,
so that those who are particularly anxious can rest through their
appointment, and you just need a friend or relative to drive you
home. Whatever your needs, we will talk with you to help you find
the best option. You will leave here happy that you came!
Will cosmetic dentistry hurt?
We make every effort to make sure that no dentistry in our office
hurts. Most cosmetic treatments don’t even require the use
of local anesthetic so these appointments are not only pain-free,
but often you get to leave with just your new smile, not with numbness!
Are your dentists gentle and nice to deal with?
That is the complement our dentists receive more than any other!
In fact, sometimes our patients can’t remember whether they
see Dr. Powell or Dr. Tiller and they will start describing her
to describe which one they see, and they’ll say “You
know, the really sweet one, soft voice, so gentle, kind of short…”
and we’ll have to say “Does she have brown hair or blonde
hair, because everything you just said could apply to either one
of them!”
