We are always happy to perform an orthodontic evaluation as part
of your exam. We monitor dental development in children and may
recommend early therapy to help with proper jaw development to allow
sufficient room for their permanent teeth. We do minor orthodontic
therapy in our office for adults and children who have minor problems
of crowding, spacing or alignment. Following is a brief description
of some of the orthodontic services we provide in our office:
Spring Retainers
These are minimally noticeable retainers to align front teeth in
cases with minor crowding, spacing or rotations. We quite often
use these to treat adults who have previously worn braces, did not
continue to wear their retainers and their teeth have shifted again.
We also use them in patients who never had braces, but have only
slight overlap of their teeth or small spaces between teeth. This
treatment is a quick (usually less than 6 months) affordable and
more aesthetic alternative to traditional bands and brackets.
Invisalign
Now adults can have the benefit of braces without sacrificing comfort
or aesthetics. Invisalign aligners are practically invisible, removable
and easy to work with, so there aren’t the same restrictions
of metal braces. The Invisalign system has proven to be just as
effective as straightening teeth as previous metal braces, with
a shorter wearing time. Invisalign braces treat a wide variety of
orthodontic problems, including crowding and crooked teeth.
Stabilization Retainers
These are retainers for people who have had braces previously, are
still happy with the alignment of their teeth, but need a new retainer
to prevent future shifting.
